GlitterBug is a limited Rare Gem in Bejeweled Blitz. It is a red gemstone that looks like a ladybird beetle.
When the player begins a game with Glitterbug activated, a special board configuration will appear. The starting layout includes a random number of unique red gems that resemble ladybird beetles. Upon clearing a ladybug from the grid, it will explode, destroying itself plus the four surrounding gems in the cardinal directions. It will also change the colors of the four surrounding gems in both diagonal directions to red; this effect turns Flame Gems into ladybugs and does not affect Hypercubes.
The base value for clearing a lady beetle is 3,100 points.
